Have the desire to serve. If we all had the desire to uplift the world, this planet would certainly be heaven on earth. But first, you have to have the desire to uplift yourself. How do you feel about the desire for service? The desire is the stimulant. What do you want to image into the world and into your experience?
See the best in yourself and make yourself happy! According to the world, that sounds selfish. And the world tells you that you are a miserable sinner. But the truth says that you want to be happy, because your nature is bliss. Every day, state your intention: I choose to experience more and more joy and well being today. And I'm going to do it by focusing on what God has given me. And how can you be happy unless you love yourself? The only way to be happy is by going within.
Purify your actions. Any action performed thoughtlessly or without love creates bondage. Any work you do is transformed into service when you perform the action with love.
Become a renunciate. You don't have to give up one thing to be a renunciate. The good news is that things will give you up, or they will all fall away of their own accord. But you do have to give up your negativity-every thought that resists fulfillment of your desire. You have to give up all resistance to your healing, all resistance to your well-being. And you have to renounce all fruits of action. Because when you are attached to the fruits of action, you cannot give your best to the action.
Stop worrying about what will happen to you or to the world tomorrow or next year. You only get anxious when you think you, the human self, have to do everything. By that power within me I do everything, and not of myself. Just concentrate on what's at hand. And make the ends and the means one.
