To love God is to know God. To know God is to love God. There's no separation. Unconditional love is the Beloved. There's a wonderful mystery to that. People have all these questions about why God created this world. The nature of Love is to love. Sounds simplistic, doesn't it? So simplistic that we go right on by. To love means to express it in action, in manifestation, in creation. So out of Love the world came into being.
If you have a Beloved, the Beloved has to have a lover. And there can be no lover without the Beloved; so Love became the Beloved. Then the Beloved created the illusion of needing a lover, and the lover created the illusion of needing the Beloved. The only way the Beloved could love is by creating the illusion of another, or the other, called the lover. Now the lover yearns for the Beloved. The play has begun-the dance of the cosmos! So throughout creation, throughout life, every expression of divinity, of the Beloved, is that the Beloved longs for the lover, and the lover yearns for the Beloved. All this is the activity of unconditional Love.
Then what happens is that we start feeling a sense of separation. We feel we are here and the Beloved is "there," wherever there is. There evolves in us an intense yearning for union with the Beloved. The more intense your sense of separation from the Beloved, the greater is your yearning for union with the Beloved. When you reach the most intense sense of separation from the Beloved, you are the closest to union with the Beloved. When the yearning is the most intense, you see the obstacles have never existed except in the domain of the mind.
Therefore, you can use the sense of separation as a springboard to union. Use what you have to get what you want.
Keep your light burning, for you never know when the bridegroom will appear. Your soul is the bride, and there is only one bridegroom: God!
