Spiritual Questions and Insights
Divine Life Church of Absolute Oneness
By observing whether I am reacting. In other words, am I pushing against or away from my observation, or am I letting the truth about the observation reveal itself to me?

If, however, I experience emotional reaction, equating with powerful resistance, I need to define what I choose, prefer, or intend to perceive, experience and feel in lieu of my state of perception. The process of gaining clarity about the answer, or allowing healing to take place-dissolving my doubts and forgiving the debtor-is to understand the spiritual principle of forgiveness. Therefore, whatever image I hold in mind of another and whatever emotion or feeling I attach to that image in consciousness is what keeps me in a state of debt, or personal bondage. Perceiving the truth of this, I now am free to see the other-my debtor, the one who has caused me such pain through his failure to support my well-being-as God (the nonjudgmental, all-pure consciousness, or Self) perceives my debtor. This calls forth the question: "How does God perceive me who perceives another as being indebted to me?" God always perceives me as God perceives Itself-as perfect and whole and beautiful. Have I forgiven my debts by seeing myself in that light, or have I at least initiated or chosen the process as God sees me in wholeness, without judgment, condemnation, or criticism? What but Self-knowledge or Self-realization has the power to forgive me my debts or to release you from your debtors?

Freedom is the watchword. Eternal vigilance is the price of spiritual freedom. Furthermore, you must know that none of this is possible unless you are willing to step out of your human self and allow your divine self to be the master of your life, understanding, and relationships. In the words of Buddha, the Compassionate, "Be the masters of yourselves."  This is the watchword and the call to everyone who seeks to live in freedom, not only from all debts but beyond that, in the consciousness of being the ever free Spirit.
