Spiritual Questions and Insights

Here are eight steps to follow.

    1. Acknowledgment  Don't sugarcoat what you are experiencing. Don't deny it, either. Why would you deny it? Because it contradicts your self-image. So acknowledge that you feel unhappy. But don't say, "I am unhappy," because God is the I AM and God cannot be unhappy. Say instead, "I feel unhappy."

    2. Cultivation  Cultivate your innate qualities of perfection. Move in consciousness from whatever negative condition you are aware of to its positive counterpart.

    3. Imaging  Image lovingly that which you want to experience. You are the image maker, and that is God.

    4. Decision-making  Ask yourself, "Where do I want to be?" If you are not content with your state of consciousness, your feelings, moods, self-image, and so on, decide what you want your consciousness to be.

    5. Occupancy  Occupy the consciousness where you want to be. Only when you dwell in a state of consciousness do you occupy it. The state of consciousness to which you return the most during the day is the state of consciousness that you occupy.

   6. Action  Act in your imagination as though you are already in the new state of consciousness. How would I be if I were actually functioning out of the new and expanded state? If right now I were living in that state of consciousness, what would I be doing? What would I be saying? What attitudes would be gone?

Drop the desire. For desire must die in order for the next step, resurrection, to take place.

    7. Sharing  What do I have within myself that I can share with another?  Then give of that freely to others.

    8. Thankfulness  Give thanks whenever you feel out of sorts or blue.  Say, "Thank you, Father-Mother, God, thank you very much." And continue giving thanks until your heart feels lighter.
